streets filled with paint and chaulk
buildings climb with fire escape vines
we sally forth to hurry back
the metallic clang of the factories
grind so many dreams into dust

everyday i walk home under the bypass
its overgrown
no country here
just the magnificent roar of the gears
walking in basements
and up on roofs
infinite levels of passionate pursuit

for me a door always open
a cigarette always smoking
another cause
keep things new
lets pay up
it's time to go around that corner
a man might know hot to change it all
or at least my own

A bonsai tree next to my dusty window
looks out on the city and joins its perfection

I play material like a game
and speed through the required intersections
i throw eggs on stuff
knock over things and talk about hate
it's a moral decision
hard to relate

Every morning when i surrender
to the path i walk along the streets
my legs cut from grass
and i speak like a profit of the night
'there's people there in street lights'
it may not be right to put out this desire and fire
these winding alleys put the thrill in free will
come together and accomplish in the night
so still
we had a choice
and made the metropolis work for us now
a rejoicing plain shirt in a common crowd
that human dust shines in the streets
infinite energy and a challenge to meet
and we may not have something new to say
but alway
but always our own way [comments] => 0 [counter] => 115 [topic] => 74 [informant] => scooterhyme [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => surreal )

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
