THE GOOD THINGS NEVER LAST

Just a flickering light
Our memories are out of sight
Those happy days
Have sadly gone away
We didn't know how our lives would turn
Back then we had so much to learn
Please don't look so sad

The summers were beautiful
The fun shared by one and all
The nights were so long
We could do no wrong
If we could have just one wish
Back then, it would be to keep life like this
Please don't look so sad

The good things never last
Your happiness is in the past
The good things never last
Your life is going by too fast
I swear
The good things never last
But I want you to know
Before you go
That the good things never last
