Array ( [sid] => 155309 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => From My Sight [time] => 2009-11-23 23:34:22 [hometext] => this is a farewell poem to the site, and to my love. goodbye, YPDC. [bodytext] => You're already gone
From my sight
And I try to hold on
With all my might
But it seems everytime
That I try to hold tight
You slip through my fingers
You're gone from my sight

Picking up the pieces
Of my broken heart
Placing them together
Part by part
You say you care for me
I know this is true
What you never knew is
How I love you

But you couldn't stay
Fate had other plans
No matter how I cling to you
Desperately with my hands
I can't keep you with me
No matter how I try
And the question that I ask
Is why, why, why?

Why do we have to part
Is this some cruel joke?
If it is, please, God, save me
Keep me from those dishonest folk
Who believe they can mess
With the balance of things
Maybe, when this is through,
We'll each have our rings

Rings of silver and gold
Tight around our fingers
Luminescent jewels shine
Where the light will linger
Matching in every way
And beautiful as can be
But this is not to be
There can be no more 'we'.

You're already gone
From my sight
And I tried
To hold on tight
But everytime
That I held with my might
You slipped through my fingers
And now..

You're gone from my sight. [comments] => 1 [counter] => 145 [topic] => 52 [informant] => Innocent_Sinner [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => goodbyepoetry )
