I found a bird upon the ground
it was a fragile little thing,
i picked it up so gently
cause it had a broken wing.
I took it home to my house
it was very easily scared,
i gave it food and water
it seemed to know i cared.
I soothed its ruffled feathers
it sensed i meant no harm,
so i made that bird a little nest
it seemed contented and quite calm.
For two long months i nursed that bird
it daily grew more stronger,
then came the time to let it go
it could stay with me no longer.
I took the bird out to a field
and released it in the air,
i revelled in the sight of it
it had responded well to care.
I watched that bird fly way up high
but it was an ungrateful little ****,
so i took my gun, aimed it straight
and blew that bird to bits!

Why do you say it was ungrateful? I see the inner turmoil here. Good vs. evil Stewardship vs. selfishness Life's struggles poetically contained. Well done!

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
