Day and night I hear her call
she calls out my name.
I long to spend every minute
joining with the sea.

For now I shall feel lucky
that for this one day we became as one.
To listen to the surf
and join in all the fun.

The day so very chilly,
but people gathered round.
Coming from states away
to add to the fun.

The kites of all sizes
danced high up in the wind.
Coloring the grey of the sky
with colors bright and vibrant.

We were lost in those moments
as the water crashed the shores.
As the kites dipped and danced
in the big winds as the rain poured.

We have a similar one in Sydney, Michelle, just last Sunday on Bondi Beach, called the Festival of the Winds (though a bit more pleasant here as it's Spring!). Nice mellow capture of the moment.

Sounds like a lot of fun, shel! Never mind the cold and rain - if there's a smile on your face, you're the winner!

That painted a really awesome picture. I got the chills from the rain...
I love the sea too, so I loved this poem.
Take care,
David
