[title] => Sleepless Veils
[time] => 2009-09-07 17:20:43
[hometext] => This was written during a week of no sleep, caused by many reasons, all of which are discussed within the poem itself.
[bodytext] => When sleepless veils take their toll refined cloth is no match. Strange tales, best unknown, bond quick with blue moods; Soothing the need for this vengeful age; Breaking old vows before dawn. The creek of floorboards now block out sounds. Enough to mourn for pervasive towns to be blacked out when lights creep past their leaking shore; Scores of windows bore their shouts. The mind lacks quick wit. Sickly jarrings leave at the sign of night. Try again, the plight should not last. But the sun has spiteful eyes; Amber light is soon cast; Signing off this shift with the starry reef. Hearts sink. Where bleeds the sinking weight? Plunged beyond the depths, out of time, in this, the wearied day. With no owls prowling; And barns tearful. Blistered Scottish ink purged of restful sleep. To beat the advancing loss of time the hours then tracked back, listing their crimes in ordered fashion. They meekly said retreat, backtracked, and left the atlas blind. Through no fault sweet beasts; Priestly, preening trees have moved minds, enticed kindness. Scented vines having passed from the mundane stifled iris to nightly compass; Miming the needs we seek after dark; Sleep, sleep, sleep.
