Leshay and I left the room
off for a little walk.
Then off in the distance I heard it
the sound of big big truck.

It pulled into the hotel,
much to my surprise.
Leshay was at full attention
I then saw it in her eyes.

She began to get excited,
then there went her tail.
She was hell bent on taking off
right over to the truck with big wheels.

A tug of war then insued
she against I.
I told her NO that is not our truck
from her I got no reply.

So the battle in the parkling lot waged on.
The two queens of our household.
She determined she was going to go,
me telling her again a firm no.

I sighed for a moment
as I looked over at that big truck.
For that second I missed it
then I had the call once more of the open road.

Nope those days are over,
Leshay was then throwing a fit.
Giving me a big what far
she wasn't about to quit.

So I had to drag her along,
had I let lose of the lease I fear
she wouldnt look back and would be gone
jumping right up in his seat.

I think at times my furkids are confused.
They are so used to being gone.
The trucking furkids and us,
but those days are now long gone.

Back in the room we sit,
Leshay sitting with a pout.
Looking out the window
knowing she wants to travel about.

Those days are long gone.
A fact is a fact.
Leshay needs to get used to it too
right along with Avalanche the cat.

This is great. I wanted to leave a comment on one of your lesser read poems as a return favor for reading my first entry. I found such a wonderful piece that represents real life. Your faint rhyme really helps to balance your poem's meter. ..original.
