spanning wars and depressions
flappers and feminists
recycled tin, towers toppled, gas crisis
(again! and again!)

these years between us for me are
the gauze of a wedding dress, tissue paper thin
what my mothers and fathers wrote in
dusty hard bound books
won and fought and lost in bloody battlefields
the means to write their own words on this past

a hundred years
behind me I look and see
words you wrote when you were young
words you wrote when you were in love
things said between you and your lovers
passed to me, hand over dedicated hand

I fall steadily more so in love
with a perfection of meter and a
breathless voice, your art falls to me,
falls on my tender shoulders
I yearn for your hands on my body and settle,
restlessly, for your words instead [comments] => 4 [counter] => 353 [topic] => 2 [informant] => inlovewithaladd [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => LovePoetry )

This is positively brilliant. Don't know who you're writing about but that is immaterial as it is excellent.

Thank you.

Tim

Bloody Hell! This is great! It had everything!

(And what does everything deserve?

Why, five out of five of course!)

"what my mothers and fathers wrote in
dusty hard bound books" .

today, in flimsy, gauze thin, paper bindings.

carry on, brave soldier.

what a lovely read.

Dri, for the bulk of mankind, "words" are like a smashed hole in a cobbled together old wall, but your "words" are a finely sculpted portal into a "reality" that is more real than "reality." People don't read your poems, they "experience" your poems. And your words just flow...you are gifted with an innate sense of meter...

I'll stop...I simply feel lucky to be able to experience your "words."

blessings,

ron...enigma...arkay
