grace the graying sky
and raindrops splatter on the windowpanes
but not my skin.
I've dressed to match this coming disaster
the brewing thunderclaps stirred me in my sleep!
Called to me in the early hours
as I stood, perplexed and nude...
just listening.
I've been waiting for the rain to hiss, to dance, to pour
I've been waiting for my own birth to come to pass again
for the time when I, barefoot, will walk again through
glass shard laden streets
where innocence fell and drowned years ago.
where woman laid down in a puddle of her own tears
The pounding roar shakes the heavens and blackens the day
Rain lashes downward, washing the bruises, the blood
away.
The streets are empty, barren
Not a soul to whisper.
Barefoot I will walk,
Crying I will lay,
and bloodied I will let myself be washed away [comments] => 2 [counter] => 195 [topic] => 49 [informant] => Inevitable [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => mystical )

ever been to England? this describes England about 99% of the time. except, of course, without the beautiful woman lying in the street.

a deeply intense write.
