Like cautious fingers, her vines travel inch by inch
Worming into every nook. Coils spread thick
Over and across the hub: crude metal is made futile.
Under her spray of tears slowly it rusts
Mere exhale of breath strips it naked, defenceless
She scolds each brittle protest with a wild whistle
And each creaking murmur is soothed to silence.
The flush and cools of her body undulate the solids
Harsh corners are webbed by soft, tangled leaves
Watch how seasons pass: her green militia move in
To build a stronghold, render the unnatural natural.
When salvation is complete she smiles
And shadows are flittered away to warm rays.
Which bathe the vegetable statue - testament to Nature’s sovereignty. what a great job with this poetic device. Nature does indeed come creeping upon us and she does make her way into every nook and cranny. Great job.

Beautifully written with a gentle nudge of forewarnin' not to ignore. We ignore so much on concrete streets 'n' sidewalks. Paved trails suffocate. Wonderful work.
