Be still my heart as it flutters like butterflies, searching for the unknown when I look into your eyes,
The rising of the morn, rays reaching out in yellow and orange,
As day breaks, the feeling I feel I hope you could relate,
Your perfume feels the room, dreams of holding you close by the light of the moon,

Fore beauty in all its glory has filled my life with biblical stories,
Like Christ allowed Moses to part the Red Sea, you were granted unto me,
Within my heart lies a picture of you, a face with eyes so true,
A touch so pure, there is nothing it won’t cure,

Your soul calls to me, like a soldier in battle fighting to be free,
A single kiss is worth a thousand deaths, just a thought of you and I have to catch my breath,
Under a sky of midnight blue, the stars will hear my calls for you,
The moon shall shed tears of pain, until our hearts beat as one in the same,

Please don’t turn away; there is so much I want to say,
When you are around my tongue refuses to speak, I dare not step for my knees are weak,
I stare into your eyes; fore you have my heart on a lifeline,
Do you understand the words I speak; I pray you are what my soul so dearly seeks?

Forever Faithful
The Phantom

A Thousand Deaths

Be still my heart as it flutters like butterflies, searching for the unknown when I look into your eyes,

How sweet this is. It's sad but precious.
Stay safe.
Huggs, blessings, safety,
emy

Phantom, emy said it well when she remarked about this being sad and
precious. It is both. The words you chose flood the heart with memory
and a beautiful melancholy. Such a remarkably emotive piece. I know
I will be reading this one again.

Gorgeous write!

*sigh*

Sometimes, when I read poems like this,
it makes me sad, but others, like today,
it sets goosebumps to my skin as I
fully understand the words and the
emotions behind them. You have
woven an elegant piece full of longing
and hope. Fantastic job and thank you
for sharing it with us.

Be well,
~Loende
