There’s no need for light, I have the guidance of the night,
Then some eerie sound gave me quite a fright,
What sound is this I hear on this here pleasant night?

It was just a cat that happened to catch the light,
Then the cat was gone, back off into the night,
Dear little pussy cat you gave me quite a fright,
With eyes that were brighter than the moonlight,

Out the window I do stare, wondering what’s there,
The little cat was once there, now he’s gone but where?
Where did he go, I would love to know where?
He gave me quite a fright, appearing like that out of nowhere

Drifting deeper into thought, wondering what’s there,
And where did that cat go, he could be anywhere,
Out of the window, I just sit and stare,
I’m wondering now, is there any there actually – there?

And if so, is there anyone that care?
