I can't help but wonder... What would have happened if the darkness never overtook us Where we would be if the broken paths we took never shook us Would you still be my glass butterfly Allowing my pale blue eyes to peer into your divine soul I remember the way you tasted when I would breathe you in And the way you so beautifully wore my heart upon the surface of your skin You were my calm before every storm Even when I was the angry wind that blew so carelessly Still nothing will ever tarnish the lessons that we learned Slow dancing with you atop the bridges as they steadily burned Our dirty halos and broken wings sent us blindly reeling And the poison that seemed to take control somehow kept us from healing You were the pioneer of my innocence Leading the way to the shelter of knowledge that I so willingly reside in today The pieces I used to try so hard to let go of Are now the pieces that I find reverence in I have grown to realize that love transcends all evil For me, you were the love of a lifetime And I just can't help but wonder...

very good indeed. i especially liked this bit:
'Slow dancing with you atop the bridges as they steadily burned
Our dirty halos and broken wings sent us blindly reeling'
very evocative and lucid, great work.
