Acres upon acres of land will remain untouched.
An elderly man will watch from his grave.
The birds will sit perched outside, awaiting their feed, but will learn he has passed.
They will find another place to seek nourishment and they will mourn the loss of a man so generous and caring
An elderly man will watch from his grave.
A farmhouse which has seen many years is now tainted with the loss of a man who meant so much.
The paint will wither away, the barns will no longer be ventured into as often.
An elderly man will watch from his grave.
The tractors will sit as if frozen in time and never be operated with the care they once knew.
Broken down cars which held so many memories will never be looked at the same.
An elderly man will watch from his grave.
The trees will stand tall, their limbs hunching over, waiting for him to come.
The silhouette of a black lab burns into the cold concrete floor, waiting for his master.
An elderly man will watch from his grave.
The flowers once so abundant will wilt and die.
The weeds will grow through the cracks of the concrete patio.
An elderly man will watch from his grave.
The lead will no longer tear through the tin.
The old blue car will no longer make its rounds.
An elderly man will watch from his grave.
The strawberries will never grow again.
The bees will hardly pollinate.
An elderly man will watch from his grave.
The house will sit in tranquility.
The cold will take precedence.
An elderly man will watch from his grave.
The memories will never fade, but the happiness will slowly parish.
Melancholy will strike the hearts of those who once knew him.
An elderly man will watch from his grave.

Rest in Peace

I am sorry for your loss as well. You captured many vivid emotions and details in this verse that gave us all a glimpse of him and his life.

This was my last uncle..... I lost uncle Dale in July, my aunt Diane the year before that. Several friends and my mother in law, Has been difficult to say so many goodbyes.

Really they are unfading memories..and the meloncholy is striking..
His loss is felt every where..even by the birds and trees and even by the concrete patio..
This is such a remarkable poem..a master piece of its kind
Heart felt condolences..venkat

I am absolutely sure he has also watched from the grave, saw you writing this and loved it. You have painted an excellent picture of the loneliness we and the surroundings around us feel once a loved one has passed on.

I am sorry for your loss.

Take care and many blessings to you.

Tim
