When she put her head on my shoulder, and
said You’re the one for me
I knew, between heaven and hell
this is where I longed to be

And I loved it, when she walked in the room, to
make the sun rise, and the flowers bloom
and when she took me aside
to offer me that ride,
to give herself to me
I knew where I wanted to be
(between the devil and the deep blue sea)

And her lips, like cherry pop
When she kissed me
I didn’t want her to stop
So I kissed her back till I thought
I would drop, drop
down to my knees
Yeah, she was such a tease

I loved her, in so many ways
and drifted on blissful days
and prayed that it would never end
but that seems to be the way
‘cause nothing comes for free
yeah, I was blind as blind can be

And her lips, like cherry pop
When she kissed me
I didn’t want her to stop
So I kissed her back till I thought
I would drop, drop
Down to my knees
Yeah, she was such a tease

I’m ashamed to say when at loose ends
I boast that we were more than friends
and I laugh out loud
that I’m happy I’m free,
but she was where I longed to be
(I just wish she still wanted me)

And her lips, like cherry pop
When she kissed me
I didn’t want her to stop
So I kissed her back till I thought
I would drop, drop
Down to my knees
Yeah, she was hard to please.
