Late one night, needing a fix,
I decided to 'put down a job',
Found myself in an affluent home,
Away from the city mob.

Got inside the house quite easily,
Cause I am quite small and agile.
Take what I want and get out real quick,
That was my usual style.

That night I got quite greedy
And felt I could take more stuff.
I foolishly turned on one of the lights-
That's when things started to get rough!

Not long after I heard a car
As it pulled up close to the house.
I crept to the window to have a peek,
Then I kept as quiet as a mouse.

A neighbor had seen the light go on,
And the police she did call.
I knew I wouldn't have time to climb
Through the window and over the wall.

The Police they had the house surrounded,
I knew I didn't stand a chance,
Still I thought of making an escape,
So to the window I did advance.

A cop saw me and decided to play,
Told me to make a run for it.
That way when he put a bullet in my head,
The law will deem it legit!

I looked at him and smiled to myself.
And we both knew he was right.
Even though I was very tempted,
I wasn't ready to die tonight!!

Okay, I'm thinking this may be about a student you once knew??? or know??? It's definitely not about our sweet and innocent teacher. :P No way!!!

What a wonderful little story you have written in poetic verse. Very nice, Jenni!!!! I like it.

Tim

Great write. Sad situation though. A wise choice on his part.

A great story which had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I have known many drug addicts in my life time and only by God's grace am I not one. I certainly did enough in my day to become one.

A compelling tale and wonderful woven!

BRAVO!

SCM

P.S. Stay off the drugs, lol
