Actions speak louder than words.
Absurd to think that little word
could be so hard to understand or believe.

Holding on with both hands
to find the other letting go.
The hands getting slippery
the hands of time moving slow.

The word believe seems a bit harder.
It seems you have given up on that word.
You took a step forward
now you have taken twenty back.

I see you falling, the feeling is hollow
the landslide is coming, I watch you go.
Nothing to say, no more to do.
Holding on with both hands, waving goodbye to you.

I turn my back and walk away.
Holding my truth in the palm of my hand.
If you do not know it by now,
I have held on for a life time to you with both hands.

It is the letting go, the truth and the mystery.
The past and the time we made our own history.
Watch it all float and drift before my eyes.
There is nothing left, I believe I lived in a lie.

The lie of you........ who took me for granted.
Such a waste of all the years and the friendship
or was it one sided all along?????? [comments] => 9 [counter] => 230 [topic] => 32 [informant] => shelby [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 23 [ratings] => 5 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => SadPoetry )

It hurts so badly sometimes
The betrayal we find in life
when we thought we had comfort...
Know that you are better than this.
You are a loving soul.
You do have people who truly love you and they see it...
hugs....
Kara

You deal with this a lot better than me...
Great write as always...
Great imagery as well...
You always pour so much into this...

right now this poem makes me feel like a i have a split personality cuz i feel both sides of it. i walked away from a relationship for complicated reasons. i still was in love with the guy... then i met someone new and he left almost instantly because he's military... but now i doubt my feelings for the first guy and whether i ever felt them...

anyway this is an amazing write and you write about something so painful with no anger? i dont know how you did it but this poem is amazing and makes me want to hug you and tell u that u r better than this and deserve so much more..

take care..

Gen x

Love can and does grow cold with absences and we seek
to fill the voids, but in reality, true love, by it's very
definition, is unconditional, and without any preconditions
attached or as being based on ones performance. Also,
there is freedom in forgiveness That's the only way your
scars can heal themselves. We have all been there. If
you forgive your enemies even, the Bible says you heal
yourself and by doing them good in return for their evil,
you pour coals of fire onto their heads.
Blessings,
Robert Edgar "Lawdog" Burns

michelle,

This piece carries so many emotions,
Good and bad, dark yet understanding.
I know these feelings all too well.

Great write..........Mike
