[bodytext] => Never do you live, as when closest to death
You only feel naught, until it threatens your breath
Lullabies of demise, sing your love’s stature
The ruinous waltz, of bonds in their fracture
Trials of such, though cruel are much needed
Bearing the heavy yoke, of the acceded
You’ve never a want, until all it is taken
Or even to care, till you’re love is forsaken
Always to desire what you’ve had and what's lost
If return is offered, you ask at what cost
If it’s truly what you wanted and all that you miss
Then the fire is rekindled with one gracious kiss
That grandest of things, what is left there to be
To chase what we had, and from what we did flee

Love the ending. for we always want what "WE HAD" but never see what it is while it's there. Beautiful Write!

Steve,
I feel you on this one. Sometimes
we don't know what we have until
we lose it. Yes, I can so much relate
to that.
Although I must say I'm a bit of an
optimist and strongly believe in
second chances~
A sad, but very well penned write.
Wishing you the very best.
Take care
warm hugs,
dreamer

A fighting chance really does change our point of view on things, doesn't it? To me, this poem has a bit of a double meaning. I can apply it to both life and love. It ends up sending a message about how precious a treasure things are. Not taking stuff for granted. Great write. Thank you.
Kara

Steve,

what can I say? Again, you have penned the perfect desire and devotion.
The first line is IMPECCABLE!! It really draws the reader in and makes him
pay attention! And good thing too, because you have much to say! The
message here is deeply profound, indeed. Problem is, most don't heed
the advice until it's too late, always thinking, that's not going to be
me. It's a damn shame, really.

You do amazing things with words, Steve. I hope they bring all your
dreams to light and every wish comes true for you. :)

my prayers and thoughts, as always,

~ Breezy

It's those moments that we rise above the daily drudgery and remember what we are really here. Yet, too it's so easy to slip back and forget....
