The love of a father
A fathers love is pure His love is true. He holds her tight With all his might, when the tears come in the night. His law is overlooked She is falling out of place. The burdens are great She is growing up. Becoming a young lady Hanging around with guys that are shady! Still his love is unchanged Loving her more each and every day. She will stumble and fall Yet his love remains unchained. He sits and watches Her make, her mistakes. Like the sun in the sky Protecting the earth below, it is he who watches over her. The rules are strict, may seem unfair It is for her own good he has been there before. He holds her tight With a warm embrace. Letting her know Everything Will be alright.

I'm telling ya now that protectiveness only gets stronger as they grow.
That's probably why we have grand kids.
So we can still obsess and ease off ~ Just switching our focus.
That's my deep thought for the day...lol
By the way, your poem was great.
