As its journey leads to its end just over the distant horizon
And the rum creates images of mermaids and monsters
All the while anchored in port

The sun repels the darkened clouds
Never seeing rain or sadness
And a single happy thought
Can carry you upon the breeze
Through a never ending sea of blue

Crooks, thieves, and pirates afraid of time slipping through their fingers
While children dance and be merry
Staying young forevermore
And to the north two stars shining brightly visible both day and night
Lead to the world of the dying
And those that have forgotten their youth

Coastal crags stand so majestically watching over sand and sea

Gosh, I adore the story of Peter and his shenanigans and you have breathed
life into it once again. I am simply breathless at some of the lines here. There
is a beauty in this that could be missed if read too fast, you know? I especially
like the line ..

"And the rum creates images of mermaids and monsters"

It does not segregate or curry favour to any one thing. Be warned.
Drink of this and ye shall see both Monsters and Mermaids.

A glorious fantastical write! Really enjoyable!
