Falling down the chasm in the middle of the road.
Split forked road followed by the serpents’ tongue.
The day of judgements come but he's got an different idea.
Running as fast as he can move his feet.
This isn’t any normal fight he has to beat.

He takes one last breath.
One two...
I tell you this the amount of great people left in this world is a few.
He's just doing what he's got to do.
Leaping over the crumbling road to get to the goal at the end.
This isn’t just any wrong he's got to mend.
He's got to sacrifice himself for the world.

He's got no time to rest.
The weights on his shoulder he's got to pass this test.
Cars whizzing past him in the opposite direction.
Brushing besides him.
The futures looking pretty grim.
The shells are hitting the ground
Puffs of air gently spraying everywhere.
But he doesn’t care.
Closing his eyes to stop the dust.
Fighting a fight so unjust.
Running down the hill
Gasoline , hit the lighter and watch the fire.

Flames around him and he's got to his final test.
Looks straight ahead to see a thousand men with their faces covered.
What’s worrying is what he discovered.
The men remove their masks.
The flames are dying down and the smokes floating in the sky.
He looks up it's time to do or die.

His visions becoming clear now and the faces seem so familiar.
He's no longer blind , He focuses in to see him self in the face of his enemies.
He's not in the apocalypse but trapped in his mind.
Looking back to see himself with his death warrant signed.

What’s the moral of this story you ask?
What’s the hardest task.
It's always fighting yourself.
Fighting the doubt.
Trying to get the inner flame not to go out.
He opens his eyes.

And phases back to real life.
He's lying on the floor.
Welcome to the land of the living once more.
Hearing the wind whisper as it goes past.
"You've been given another chance".

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
