There comes a wandering breeze
Meandering ‘cross the cobbles
And he will drift
Amoung the waters
Washing free his mourning.

He could hear the cars
Humming in the distance
Hear the highway breathing restlessly
Hear it sigh with desire.

He settled back
Into the arms of dusk
And watched his friend
As she stretched out before him in the field
Her inviting slender curves
Seducing the restless
And the lonely…
…forever lonely left to be.

“We are the ones they fear,” he sighed
“The ones brave enough to search freedom,
Embrace it,
Seek peace with it
She is our caravan
With whom we travel
Always there and inviting.
Leading on to distant horizons
Seeking peace within ourselves. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 171 [topic] => 21 [informant] => wheels [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )

My friend you are giving me wanderlust again lol.
This is simply beautiful, you have captured the nature of the highway, ahhhhh breath taking. I can see the black ribbon now and my tail lights dancing into the sunset. You write with such detail.

Lonely as you feel right now, know you have me as a friend!.

Cheers to my wandering soul

Hugs
Michelle

A true expression of a gypsy's soul. Wondering, looking for answers that only the peace and solitude the highway can give.

You truly have a gift my friend ... I will say it again, your words entrap the reader drawing them into your soul.

Peace

~Shannon
