Fishing the Elusive

The Severn shakes The hand of the Chesapeake Like that of old friends Waves elbowing each other in jest.
The old Severn Bridge Casts down its patrons web Fishing for the elusive The elusive slippery, always slipping Like rainbows from our eyes.
The lovers leaving lovely footprints Together toe-to-toe Basking in the sand Where birds will try to match them And waves shall reach to see.
Yet, The tide soon shall change As always That hour we await too soon to find They too have waited to embrace Footsteps That are not to be But sorrowfully erased
