A storm is brewing...
I can feel the sudden chills.
The winds are picking up speed,
The rains have started pouring.
Down from the darkened clouds, they fall,
Onto these shoulders of mine.
I can see the signs...
I must heed the warning.
We have choices to make.
Either get out of the open
Or prepare to stand the consequences.
My choice I have already made.
I’ve got to find a safe haven.
I'm no longer prepared to fight,
My spirit has fallen short.
My tears now mingle with the raindrops.
I have lost!
I am lost!

I have seen you survive storms before. Each one is a single battle that will be won. Stand tall, support is there for you.

Jenni,

an apt use of the weather metaphor for personal foreboding and troubles. Strong and explicit in its conveyance of feelings and the actions that result.

Is it ironic to think that our low ebbs often provide fuel for our thoughts in poetry.
You have produced another wondrous piece.
I hope that soon everyhing becomes a little easier to bear

Steve
