Knowing you had time to prepare.
It doesn’t make the hurt
Any less painful to bear.
And it doesn’t end the good times
That the both of you will share.

Keep her close to you,
Let her live on in your heart.
Even though you may think
You are now worlds apart.
Cherish always the values
That to you she did impart.

She has lived a good life
One filled with love and joy.
I know you will always be
Her special little boy.
Do not allow her death
Your special bond to destroy.

Know that she is at peace now,
Free of all her pain.
Let the good times you shared
Be the memories that remain.
And know that one day
You’ll be together again.

Death is such a sad event, even when one has time to prepare for it. My heart goes out to those who have to deal with the pain. Great piece Jenni.
