In the shadow of myself
I see no light
It's what blocks away the warm rays
Darkening my sights
I wish to look upon the hope
that lies in store for me
but in the shadow of myself
that hope I cannot see
the wicked way I bend and turn
shields the light, my soul, it yearns
For in the shadows of myself
the truth to now behold
there is no good within myself
the Good is in my soul
When Jesus changed all that I was
this wicked war began
for in the Master's light, you see
that shadow is not what I am!
