I'm moving and and I'm working
I'm working and I'm moving
momma always said
If your gonna say something you better feel it
And if your feel something you better be willing to say
So say what you feel
and feel what you say
Because words today
are like nuclear bombs
In the wrong arms
They destroy cities towns and farms
I heard about a young girl on myspace who took her own life
Cause words cut deeper then any kind of knife
Now may she
rest in peace
And her parents cant
rest in peace &
You shouldn't be able to
rest in peace
after reading this piece
because death isn't just occurring in the middle east
Its our children that are falling by the way side
Being dumped in the bay side
And I cant just turn a blind eye
When I have the ability to scribe
And you have the ability to listen
or the ability to read
so you should also have the ability need
to change the situation that bleeds
out the youth
there is a battle of good and evil
And evil and good
so which side of the line do you stand
On which side of the line do you demand
That things don't stay the same
not placing blame
but like paying ten dollars
for seven dollars things
your making change
And its starts with those who have the frame of mind
to change the mind
of lost minded
individuals we need to find it
return it to them
then perhaps they wont be blinded
But who am I to say
that were gonna change the way
that people view the world today
they could just stay
and remain the same way
that they are today
But I refuse to say
that I wasn't a part of the movement
that walked this way
that I wasn't part of the scribes that talk this way
So when I get to Jesus
I'll say I did my part
I touched some hearts
I helped rebuild some souls
And I assisted in making them whole
But only through the gifts that granted to me
Did I describe the power that words could really be
so when sticks and stone
end up breaking your bones
just remember my tone
And go pick up the phone
Cause your never really alone
Just one word away
or two phases to say
Three little syllables
Like
I love you
You love me
Words and phases
Can break down races
And barrier lines that are drawn we can erase this
eradicate
racist
rapist
take faces
for face value
and value the cases
that we are faced with
so to warrior word-smiths
linguist
hand sign therapist
poetic and novelist
these words are just for you
don't use your words just you
but to get through
the lives of others
and thats the way its got to be
Cause with great power comes great responsibility
