Array ( [sid] => 141220 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => One Nightlong [time] => 2008-03-28 07:13:42 [hometext] => For all lovers and partners that are apart for whatever reason, but mostly for those that are separated due to active duty in service to their country. may they all be together soon. [bodytext] => Now that morning has arrived
I wipe the sleep from in my eyes
And as my body came awoke
It is your name that first I spoke

For I had dreamt that you were here
But now lay stricken with despair
I don’t accept this, as I should
And you would be here, if you could

But in the dream, that which was best
Is that my fears were put to rest
For in your arms you held me close
And it’s your warmth, which I need most

If I could find one way to keep
You here with me so I could sleep
And just to have you, one nightlong
To ask of this, am I so wrong

It just may come when least expected
A total surprise when not projected
What I would do for one such night
To soothe my heart, and make this right

For if I could, make this one true
This dream I have of me, and you
My thanks to God I will recite
Then start to dream, for another night

This is really a pretty poem. The word awoke doesn't fit though.. other than that a truly lovely write.

With your permission I would like to share this with someone who is going through a very hard time right due to being away from her military husband.

I will send you a link to a page I want you to read it will tell the story you most likely have heard it on the news.
