hidden beyond the thin veil of reality
can be seen, visited in astral dreams
scrying the voids that seperate

it's maddening to see such sights!
but not be able to break through
cosmic energies caress the mind
enticing one to touch

to find the gateway among us
the mysteries of existence
a goal that surmounts all
deep obsession, hear the arcane call

vicious, may be the words of unbelievers
but many visions have sustained me
years of searching for the means, divining knowledge
at last, almost close!

in darkened tower chamber
years of labor shall bear fruit
crytal orbs of power arranged
one for each point of the pentagram

preparing the mind for the strains ahead
runes glowing, carved into the flesh
ritual begins, the orbs shatter, piercing skin
primal scream of pain, spit forth the chant

floating, caught in a web of force
feeling the life essence drawn forth
the body shrivels, the mind ascends
a portal opens before the astral self

to new dimesnions! vast power at hand!
leave the wretched world behind
metomorphosis of the soul
free from mortal coccoon, no longer damned

now one with the stars
see all worlds at once
immortal at last, traversing the ether
explorer of life, knowledge beyond comprehension [comments] => 1 [counter] => 237 [topic] => 13 [informant] => moforious [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DarkPoetry )

This is just a masterpiece. It has been a while since I have read and written poetry. Your poem was the first one I clicked, hell I am grateful I didn't get something emo. I think the last poem I wrote was back in 06? Now I have submitted two this year. Anyway thanks for the read.
