I was scared and didn't know what to do
I remember you calling me stupid
As you left me to die.

I remember walking to you
All I needed was a hug
You told me you were busy
As you left me with myself to do.

I remember when I overdosed
I called you because I thought you'd care
I remember you saying that you had friends over
I guess I'm weaker than supposed.

I've never needed to really talk
But I like to know that you're there
Everytime I try to ask for you
You're always excused for being on a walk.

I remember just needing to be beside
Someone, anyone
I remember all the nights I cried alone
As you'd sneak aside.

I remember when I came to say
After everything being so vague
Blood streaming down my arm
You looked at me and walked away.

You talk to me when I'm not so alone
And wonder how I am
"Things look okay"
I've made it on my own.

Now it's time for you to remember
As apparently I'm always the one to blame
Actions scream louder than words they say
And yet you left me to rot. That I will cease to forget.

I've never needed anyone quite like you
But you still come to me like I tried to.
Time has made me cold
And hearts have made me bitter.
But if that was you on the phone
I wouldn't have left you alone.
If it was you that just need a hug
I'd hold you nice and snug.
If it was you who overdosed 'cause you felt little
I'd drive you to the hospital.
If that was you needing to talk
I'd run to your house instead of a walk.
If it was you who needed someone
I'd stay with you night or sun.
If you were the one that bled
I'd have many tears to shed.
It wouldn't be a conversation scene
I'd sincerely care how you've been.
If it was you I would never
Have turned my back... ever.
Where would any of you be
Without me. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 257 [topic] => 65 [informant] => Karlee14 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => toughstuff )

This is heart wrenching but written well.
I can relate in my own way.
Unfortunatly there are many others that are the same way. There are many that's why i live alone with my animals. They are always here for me.
Hang tuff.
big huggs,
emy

Wow! This was a really good poem...but in a sad way. I have had people in my life that have turned their backs on me when I needed them most, and it hurt so bad. I am happy to say my wonderful boyfriend is now here for me whenever I need him and he will never turn his back on me. I'm not sure if you believe in God or not, but he is alway there for you know matter what!

Keeping you in my prayers!
