Because you put pride and greed first,
Now all that is left are the mutants and the dirt,
Crawling around with the cockroaches and the worms.
I walk down this vacant path,
Littered with my vacant past,
I wonder why it is that I survived,
I wonder why it is that I'm still alive?
When I see all the dead bodies lying on the ground,
Thrown all around, flipped flopped around.
A green haze now, has arrived,
I can look at the sun and it doesn't burn my eyes.

All these lifeless faces staring into my once shallow eyes,
Something deeper is coming my way,
And I shall soon realize.

Last thing I remember is a silver bright light,
Piercing my vision and everyone dying,
Now I roam this land alone,
I wonder why me?
I might never know.
Have I been chosen?
Is that why I'm still roaming?
While everyone else is corroding,
Or will my soul start eroding?
While I make my way through this speckle in time,
Trying to make do with what I have been given,
I start to get the empty feeling,
That I'm on the other side of the living.

I continue down my lonely trail,
Surrounded by still-life carcasses,
Nothing moves, nothing breathes,
Inside me, contempt starts to breed,
But forget all regrets,
Cut myself to bleed,
To see if this is more than a dream,
The nuclear fog and the shade of green,
They both start to blanket me.
I open the door to my now burned house,
There is my body, floored like the ground,
The soul I now live in feels lonely,
Alone I spend for eternity.
