The dragon's at the gates again, breathing fire, I draw my shield
A new one I fashioned, from this last year alone, you got closer, but this time, no ground I did yield
We all have choices, we have to make
We all can choose to make a mistake
And fashion a lie, and let the demons out
And compromise what you've become, and fill your mind with doubt
We all can be a victim, and harvest more pain
And more scars will grow, more bad memories remain
But somewhere inside, you have a choice
Before the door is opened, before you can rejoice
In the lust or the sickness or the darkness you hold
I finally see that, the truth can be told
What kind of a man, makes the choice to be bad
What kind of a person, holds to darkness to be sad
All of these words are forcing a rhyme
As the demons try to gather, and I drift back in time
To 3 years ago, when I made a wrong turn
In my life's journey, when my heart did burn

i love this. i think this could make amazing song lyrics. im into hard rock, alternative, metal, etc and your words seem fitting for that genre.
other things about this. your rhymes werent cheesy and didnt sound very forced at all (nice line about that too). i saw some nice imagery in this. i liked your out/doubt lines the most. |
