go to waste
when a heart goes unloved
like a birthday cake no one gets to taste

i regret things in my life
but of so many things
very few stick out in my mind

i remember the day, by that perfect sunset
when all of god's colors danced on the water's surface
when people stopped to notice beauty, and life had purpose
when time stood still

i remember the pain, more than i remember the day
like a bee sting in my heart, it'll never go away
when we asked god why he took one of our own
in a place no one ever wanted to go, time stood still

i remember the feeling, more than i remember the day
everyone dressed in white, on a cool spring night
when two people become one, when love finally looked
like it had won, when they said "i do"
time stood still

i remember the begining more than i remember the ending
when you looked in my eyes and told me your name
i forgot about the world around me, the clock didnt tick
i could breathe, i couldnt move

time stood still

ill remember this moment more than the ones before it
cuz i have memories of the past, but right now is whats important
all i see is happiness when i look into your eyes

and when you kiss me

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
