those muse whom i place
upon those oblivion pedastals
of wood and steel

i burnt my mind and hands on their flaming fire
i grew back limbs of hammers and saws
with a mind long with cotton spirals
long enough to let strangers ascend
and burrow ever deeper, letting the cotton relax them
there they sleep

sleeping, ever draining me of relaxation
and use of my tools for hands
letting their dreams reverberate of the cotton dens
and slowly seep from my tongue
i can speak many languages but now touched with fire
all i can mouth is flames

I toiled to make myself a wooden coat
shaped into the figure of a quiet horse
in this form i am vassal to this will
as my hair grows inwards choking me

Lord! i have seen this lifetime!
one late night while channel surfing
it came to me in repeated flashes
with gentle narrations until all i could do was close my eyes
and let my mind wander into the screen

i opened them to see the clock marked 7:30
the day of my departure, however i rolled and slept
i have been left standing here with a growth on my back
screaming words that have been delivered
i turn and scrape and abuse my back only to have it escape me
escape my clutches and the bed i have prepared for it
i sleep in this bed that my tool limbs have made
my hair wrapped around me
providing warmth in an otherwise distant place

i realise now this wooden horse was a means to an end
words drive me at fast speeds through actions streets
skidding at the turns while i hurl abuse at words with mine
but my truth is it simply was not apparent [comments] => 1 [counter] => 210 [topic] => 61 [informant] => classicfailedhero [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => selfstruggles )
