Don't ask me why I love you
'Cause my only answer is
You are who you are, and love me for me,
And love couldn't get any sweeter than this.

And the only thing that's bitter-sweet
Is having to say goodbye,
And the single thing that I miss most
Is looking in your eyes.

Or having you wrapped around me
Like the world is in your hands;
Or feeling you beside me
In some random silent dance.

Or hearing your "I love you's"
As the sun is coming up;
Or stealing three more kisses
'Fore our precious time is up.

I came from a past that knew heartache and doubt,
But you're something now I can't imagine love without.
I came from being let down, put down and disgraced.
Now all the happiness I know comes from the smile on your face.
