Around a new day’s landscape.
On both sides the fields are bathed
In limpid gold and fresh with dew.
I am driving somewhere,
But in this moment the where is unimportant.
All that matters is that I am here
On the other side of the door,
And making my way.
There is no need for the radio.
The pale skies are singing,
The clouds are telling folk tales
About hope and promises.
Alone on the road I can hear them,
Believe them,
And for once they make sense.

The world dazzles into an orchestra;
The wheels keep on rolling;
Many more thin ribbons of mist blossom
Around a new day’s landscape.

Author's note: I was driving to work, it was the most beautiful morning and I couldn't help but feel (even if just for a short while) that everything was going to be alright. I love those days! I was there with you, man. I could see the mist...I love the line...

"Many more thin ribbons of mist blossom".

Many folks I am sure drive back and forth to work each day, seeing things as they pass, but never really looking. I love that you were looking, and shared your view....it was beautiful.
Peace and hugs,
Laura

I often drive through the night and experiencing such a dawn is a treasure,that driving doesn't often offer.I'd turn the radio off too.
I enjoy your poetry immensely.

"The pale skies are singing,"

Damn fine line, Dom. That one line says a MULTITUDE of things. You captured the beauty
of dawn so well. I love this time of day and hate that I must use it only to drive to work
in. I reluctantly must exit my vehicle and enter the cold florescent world. :(

Exceptional writing, hun. Hope your wonders are still filling you. :)

*hugs*

Ah, yes! I, too, love "those days". I think, really, every day is one of "those"... we're just too busy, too otherwise-focused, too unfortunately-distracted to notice each and every one as we should. We ought behold the world and embrace life with a regularlity so regular that it's essentially uninterrupted by anything any less glorious. I am convinced that glory exists in every moment/day... we but need to reach for it.

This, Dom, is a fabulous tribute to one of those exuberant moments. I'm thrilled for you that you caught it and laid it onto the page. And I wish for you... countless more days like this one.
