I remember thunder
and lightning in the air
And I recall just how you looked
when I saw you standing there
But what I remember most
and it almost makes me cry
I remember how it felt
when my Laura lied
Laura lied,
and it tore my world into
Laura lied,
and left me wondering what to do
now as she stands before me
and I look into her eyes
All I can remember is
how my Laura lied
Laura lied
Twenty years ago, almost to the day
an still all these teardrops
will not go away
And every time I've cried
I still feel inside
how well that I remember
just how my Laura lied
Laura lied,
and it tore my world into
Laura lied,
and left me wondering what to do
now as she stands before me
and I look into her eyes
all I can remember is
how my Laura lied
Laura lied
Now as she stands before me
I don't know what to say
as my mind slowly drifts back
to another day
When I was just a young man
with a heart that broke into
the day you lied and left me
wondering what to do
Laura lied,
and it tore my world into
Laura lied,
and now I don't know what to do
for as she stands before me
with arms both open wide
All I can remember is
how my Laura lied
Laura lied.

| Hard to forget when someone you love betrays you or is dishonest. Really stinks. But the write is GREAT! :) Thanks for lying, Laura. Otherwise we wouldn't have this lovely poem :) |
