  • heard you were in the neighborhood
not quite sure if you are welcome here
quite possibly you are up to no good
especially being you are a bear,

technically it is your world; tis true
    just wondering your lumbering size
there is no one here for you to chew
please remember id like no surprize,

i admit a wary eye for my blind spot
truly hoping you will not come inside
though afraid of you; friend i think not!
ha! tonight the doors are open wide!

i knew you were around years ago
    big pawprints under windows indeed
now big newspaper celebrity: you know-
i ask only you consider where you feed,

was unaware of your activities lately
apparently youve caused some fuss here
of hurting you, dare i would not dream!
    {go see my neighbor i know he has beer}

this next of course; if you are unrefined-
behave yourself! dont attempt eating dogs
coming here will earn you a piece of my mind
no sneaking up when in rolls mists and fog,

now as i lay down for sleep
i do not want to hear a peep!

for i, brave as i am, would take no delight
in a bear believing me or mine delicious doe
let the whipporwil of peace sing tonight
keep your lips to yourself; no biting toes,

still honestly; im the intruder in these woods
so you are forgiven any and all wrong doing
she says bravely as she runs closing doors
remember if a cutey bear you are wooing-

    no chewing!

A bear in your neighborhood huh? Interesting...wow, you know I don't know exactly what part of the world you live in but as much as I like to venture outdoors, especially at night...man, I'd hate to think of a bear wanting me for dinner. lol Ahhh but you are so right, we as humans have invaded many animals home...some folks don't like to share the land too much.
My sweet Nessa..it sounds as though you have a wonderful attitude about the bear, my guess is if he or she visits, they're only wanting to say hi and wish you peace. I truly believe nature knows those who love her and those who do not....No harm would surely come to your nature-loving heart, my friend. Loved the write....keep us posted on the bear.
    Much peace, love and hugs,
    Laura

I liked the write...love nature but have great respect for bears...here in the city we had a deer running down the street and that caused a little excitement but only bears around here are in the zoo...the animals we have to watch out for are all human
    Really enjoyable write

Very good work of art, girlfriend.
I often wondered how I would re act if I run into a bear.
We have a mountain lion close here. I've never seen it but my aunt-n-cousin up the hill have.
    Again good work.
    luv, huggs, smiles,
    emy

Wow nessa ... bears are amazing creatures, no? Still, they do have some power over me.
Formidable, but oh so damn beautiful, I think. I've seen a couple; mostly up north (Northern
    Ontario), when visiting my grandparents.
But there was a smallish bear in the town next over that was chased up a tree. The
guys had to come in and shoot it with a tranquilizing gun so they could take him to
    safety. :)

Had a nightmare about being chased by a bear, (unsure why that was), but
I still think they are amazing. Wouldn't want to run into one in the woods, though.
That would be terribly inconvenient. lol

    WONDERFUL write, hun.

Ha! literal poetry indeed, and hot off the presses, although having, for some reason- probably my upcoming trip to the States - reviewed some grisly images of bear attacks, (no pun intended), I am somewhat sobered by their incursions into fragile human space. I guess it's all Gentle Ben till they chomp on your butt!

I can see the nature side of it easily, still... I'm wondering what else you have in here?
Great job, your write always hold my attention, not just to the end, but after as well!

Wonderful write about my favourite subject. Wild life. Bears are normally shy creatures and will only atack if they are with young or feel that they are in danger. Here in Austria the brown bears are being broght back to the forests the population of bears is increasing I am pleased to say. The same can be said about wolves they too are being brought back to the forests of Austria. Lovely poem I enjoyed my read. Bern

    Wow! Quite an experience!
This poem is lovely dear Nessa, sweetly humourous and beautifully descriptive. Bears are amazing creatures, but I'm not sure I'd like quite such a close encounter!

    Take care,
    Dom

Holy, is this the same house? It sounds like a lovely spot to live in for a little peace of serenity. Although, some of those natural elements sound quite scary. I can see how this place could be an endless muse of sorts for a writer. I imagine it would make moving very difficult.

    Love the title :)
