In this moment of my life, I could have gained more,
Sacrificed morals and opened the door.
Yet my heart of truth can not let me take less,
Than the happiness I find in my comfort nest.

Oh yes as a femme fatel I spin the wheels,
Men offered fortunes that showed me the steals.
Yet passion of heart never picked up their offers,
With heart strings of gold I called them all scoffers.

I am not for purchase, I am not for sale,
Despite your interpretation of exquisite male.
You can not meet my price in this life.
Be gone with your money, I want to live nice.

Suppose that your comfort is all that I see?
Is it really befitting to the element of me?
I can not be taught and I can not be sold.
I live in my love of dedicated and bold.

I seek only comfort of heart as I live.
Your monetary gain is not mine to give.
So be cautious of what you offer this soul.
For men with just money are never quite whole. [comments] => 8 [counter] => 220 [topic] => 51 [informant] => needledancing [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 25 [ratings] => 5 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Event )

I've walked on the arm of a Doctor & lived in a dried creek bed w/ a homeless poet...I've found lots of worth in each experience & everything inbetween, but, of the things I took away from each, I can't say that money had anything to do w/ the things that last...*wink*

Love this, Great job!

Once again you have proven that money isn’t everything in life. But there are many other women out there that wouldn’t agree with you on this of course. Thank you for sharing. May your heart continue to be filled with peace and joy.

Money....it is just friggen paper. I'll take nature, love, friendship, family, poetry and the Grateful Dead....those things make me feel damn rich. I liked the bold feel to this write. Another uplifting piece.

Peace and hugs,
Laura

Excellent write, ND. Especially love the last line. Wow.

I'm with my fellow poets on this. Money means nothing without
love, beauty, truth and romance. Sure, it helps to sustain our lives,
but the four things I just mentioned are what we stay alive for.
What good is owning material possessions if your soul is empty?

Perfectly worded and displayed, my friend. You write with
a wisdom I wish would spread out with epidemic proportions.

Just beautiful ~

excellent write! i, too, have walked away from same several times lol, i am happy here in my simple world surrounded by what i love best, the mountain forest, animals, beauty, time for peace to write, and my integrity cannot be purchased! well, maybe some guy could buy it all for me but there would have to be love, for without love that is genuine what good is all the money in the world? why spend time with someone who only flashes a wallet and fancy talk? i can speak fancy too lol

love n' hugs nessa
