As she lays down her head
If only she had someone to talk to
Maybe she wouldn’t have
A bloody napkin
Pressed in between her hands

She’s quiet but
She still needs love
Helping her through the bad times
Someone to take her knife
Let her live her life
Away from the pain and sadness

She feels like she needs
To cry and bleed
In order to obtain less hurting
But what she doesn’t see
Is that her misery
Gets deeper as the cuts below her sleeve

She stops feeling alive
And dreams of dying
Maybe then it all would be over
Perhaps another day,
Nobody cares either way,
She falls asleep on teddy bear’s shoulder

Once she tried to find
The sources of her crying
But all of her attempts were in vain
She needs an outside eye
One that isn’t biased
To help her figure out why she’s in pain

It’s too bad people like that
Don’t come on racks
They’re sparse and hide in dark, dim places
She goes back to her shell,
Her secret hell, she’d
Been looking for miles and ages

At night she prays to God
And cries out as her father
Hits her and then tells her he loves her
She wished her mom were here
To calm her fears,
But she was gone along with Sam and Grandmother

She sits inside her room,
Looks upon the bruises
Put there by events from yesterday
Her heart sinks lower still,
As she takes some pills
Hoping that it will all go away

She wakes up to light,
And men in white,
A high-pitched beeping noise in the background
They tell her that she’s safe,
And now she’ll be okay,
Her daddy’s not going to be around now

She sits up to the news
Can’t wait to start anew,
Thanks God for finally hearing her prayer
They introduce her to
A new family who
Will love and see her and take care of her

She sees a hand reach out
And a tear comes down,
She’s never had this feeling before
For once in her life,
She now knows why
Love is such a sweet emotion

She finally found someone
To whom she can run
Someone who knows how to make her happy
She put away the knife
Started to live her life
And wake up forever from the bad dream

I really loved this poem how it started off almost hopeless but suddenly ended with a new day and new begining for this beaten down girl so many of us can relate to. Its very inspirational
