Knowing time would still as the ghost was born
To walk in the new world where spirits would be equal
Where the blind could not order the blind to follow

No stories to pass to all these sons and daughters
For so long the ending planned, now strangely abrupt
Strike first, pray swift enough to deal the crushing blow
Too slow, reciprocation marched his inevitable path

Whispering backroom voices now hushed into silence
Ultimate power, powerless, spectator to the final act
At the devil's dance assembled, courtiers to destruction
Marks on the slate about to be wiped clean

Clouds of black loomed to choke, jostled as demons
Pressed back the breath those smothering pillows
Played out the bugle call in the poison dust of evening

Yeah, it can happen but Personally I try to live my life to the fullest each day.
The religous folks tried to tell me that we'd blow up this Planet by the year 2000 but guess what. Needless to say I read the bible for myself..
Hey, I wake up on a new Planet each day.
Big smiles, huggs,
emy

I thought this was a very powerful and moving poem. The language you have used speaks to me of anger and destruction, I thought it was very effective.

Good write!

Dom

It is a beautiful work of literature. I don't see this just as a poem but a prediction.
Wonderful write.
FRANCO.
