'None so deaf as those that will not hear.' 5 Commentaries. Psalm lviii.

don’t ask for my advice again;
your choices leave me bruised and raw
this lover’s mess is yours alone;
such repetition wounds me more

why don’t you listen to the truth?
given without thought of gain
you seek me out for guiding words,
yet choose to wallow in your pain

no more a shoulder for your tears;
you’re not the only one who grieves,
when promises that you have made
fall away like autumn leaves

don’t call at midnight any more,
or choke my emails with remorse
such disregard is your disdain;
don’t ask for my advice again.

I feel you on this one
there's nothing like those emotional vampires
who come at you
but take no advice given to them.
well done....

Wow, brother...you can feel the anger in this piece. Holy crap, I never want to ***** you off! *smiles* I believed you expressed yourself exceptionally. I hope whomever, gets your message loud and clear.
Venting is good, my friend.
Peace, Laura

oh, spike, my dearest friend. It's crappy when our good nature
and generous spirit gets taken advantage of, yes? I feel so
very sorry for this pour soul, because he/she has no idea
what they have been taking for granted. The kindness and
gentleness of a beautiful heart. And what's worse, is that
I know for a fact the depth of insight you have.

But, you are right to be angry . . . no one should ever
become a doormat. Giving til it hurts is one thing . . . giving
until you're numb is unwise.

I'm sorry you are dealing with this, but you've captured the
emotion so bloody well! (jealous, I am). Flawless work,
dear poet. *hugs you just cause I can*

~Breezy

Funny, I was just thinking about those monkeys the other day......Thing is, when someone doesn't listen...does talking louder help? :)
Heck if I know, most likely I don't listen well enough either.....great post!!!

Ok, Spikito... I'll admit it.... I have this crazy vision of you reaching an arm up, grabbing hold of this within a tightly closed fist and then smashing it down onto the page. Yeh... ya caught it here, ito. You definitely did.

Your last lines (and title, I imagine) are the heart of what you caught here. But, it seems to me... L2, S3 is throbbing with the 'why' of it. I don't mean to suggest that you've miscategorized this - but for the inclusion of that one line, it, to me, became not just 'Angry Poetry' but also something more. If I had to guess, the anger has probably subsided mostly by now... but still something remains. Heart tugging, this - for that reason.

With apologies for seemingly hopscotching through your work and with hopes of doubling back in time to those I skipped over,
~Snemmita
