I'm old enough to know that but it still manages to surprise me more often than not. The question is: what to do about it? Enjoy. [bodytext] => Here’s the thing…
I never meant for it to happen,
never saw it coming,
still can’t believe that it did.

And yet,
despite all that it defies,
it is the biggest thing that has ever been.
The most honest thing to be sure.

For the first time, I can breathe,
deep, even breaths that bring life.
For the first time I understand,
what this thing called life is.

It is bigger than any choice I might have made.
And for that reason alone I know it is true.
Because God doesn’t lie even if He can.
We do enough of that on our own.

The peace that overcomes me,
with just the thought of you
makes me smile like I know all the secrets.
And maybe now I do.

Of all the truths that I have ever known,
Of all the battles I have fought,
This is perhaps the lesson that I’ve looked for:
I love, and for it, I am finally here.

It is true, I agree... Love is never an option - not true love, anyway. It just simply... is. It is an incredible blessing... the greatest gift that we'll ever receive... but it is, too, as you so aptly point out - a lesson. A life altering, overwhelming, ever impactful lesson. It... changes everything (whether or not we think ourselves ready for the change).

This piece echoes with familiarity. I find myself able to relate to the inability to deny that it is overwhelming and also to the peace to which you've eluded. Love - no matter how overwhelming, complicated and crazy it may be - is truth. And the knowing... is so, so very potent.

It...
makes me smile like I know all the secrets.
And maybe now I do.

Love those lines!

Well done, Leonde!
