The visions did come to you
Visions of a future unkind
Visions charging like the buffalo
through your ever expanding mind

Visions of white men running over you
Destroying sacred lands of worship
Coming with hate and a passion yellow
Fearing this journey may be the last trip

Iron Horse it comes with fury
Telegraph wires to spread "news"
Changes of the prairies
Lands all lost....all used

Blood of my brothers stains the lands
Visions now lost and clouded
Tears cover my eyes like a veil
Visions of my brothers shrouded

A heartfelt write sis, it is nice that we are able to see the other side of the story isn't it? For many years it was always one sided but as time goes on we see more of the sufferings of the Native Americans.

This reality is the same of Brazil. Many indians were killed, the only diference is that they died by portuguese hands, indeed english hands. But, nowadays, there is a indians' reserve... Even so, nothing will take the things as they were before.

good poem.

excellent write: absolutely true and so upsetting, are we to blame it on america itself, or technology; even then the modern world with trains and so much more than our native people knew, and now, tribes are all over, it saddens me, my husband being blackfoot left the kids a wealth of heritage but what can they do with it in this world, aside from a pow wow, sacred sage, and lovely cheekbones, without him and a multitude of tribal members they are missing out, ack, ill hush, beautiful write:)

hugs n' love nessa

Very nice!
Sad how today the aborigine seem to be doing their best to eradicate themselves. It's so foolish to try to live as they did a thousand years ago. You caught their sorrow of the invasion of their lands. but, they warred also.
