The winds of time flew swiftly by and stripped my foul name.
For once where I had held a role in sable, willowed halls,
A tragic truth had born itself beneath the moonlit falls.

A veil of silence followed suit while loneliness took part
As guardian and savior of my maledicting heart.
I cursed the world and all its flaws, its hoary fabled lore.
My life was grand but now in death I found I hungered more.

T’was not enough to idly sit and bathe in death’s embrace,
For out the grave came timely cause and utter self disgrace.
No mortal sustenance could calm my squalid, carnal pine,
So within time I paid a price, a hefty hallowed fine.

Each and every blackened night, when sun was surly set,
When Luna perched herself above and cast her silhouette,
Without thought I prowled the night and sought a lowly soul
To prey upon and take my fill so I may keep control.

For without blood to satiate this growing hungered lust,
Weakness would be wrought within, turning me to dust.
With vision blurred and skin decayed, light would surly be
The death I find when deep inside, my heart is truly free. I find this write dark and beautiful. Each and every blackened night, when sun was surly set,
When Luna perched herself above and cast her silhouette,
Without thought I prowled the night and sought a lowly soul
To prey upon and take my fill so I may keep control.

Oh my, oh my! I am entranced by this work. Wow! A lot of vampire poems on this site, and this is exceptional. Well done, very dark in the most tragically beautiful way. Wonderful flow, and a great over tale of madness, vampirism, loneliness, and uncertainty. Well done poet! Well Done!

EXCEPTIONAL!

There are some great lines in this and the expressive creativity draws you deeper into a wonderfully dark world.... when luna perched herself above and cast her silhouette... the flow adds to the beauty of the poem and altogether a great write really enjoyed this
