He was young and infused with lightening;
thunder roared in dark veins and
winds whipped through his mouth
to strip hills to raw stone.
when angry he would steal
the sun from her need
or throw down his passion
till the earth drowned in his
temperament;
for he was alone, and
mad in his power.

But she was patient.
older and seasoned,
she had settled her own fires
and now tempered his
with steady fortitude.
I am not going away, she wrote in her
mountains and rivers;
I persist, she sang in the
saplings and birth cries.

He still treats her badly
but is gentle more so,
with sweet whispers along her valleys
and soft caresses of her flowering.
yet for all the scars and blows,
the sullen disregard and provocation
they are one
in their need of the other. [comments] => 7 [counter] => 219 [topic] => 27 [informant] => spike [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 25 [ratings] => 5 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => NaturePoetry )

S, this was OUTSTANDING! And I mean that in every sense of the word. The brilliant descriptions,
the imagery, the personification itSELF is so vivid and enormous. I can't even explain why, (simply
because it is far too personal), but wow! you gripped my very SOUL with your words. It's been a long
time since I've read something so immediately clever.

Damn! This was amazing. If you know anything, poet, know this; you have created a masterpiece
here, the magnitude of which will never fully be captured through words. SO well done, Spike.

I am in complete and utter awe.
