[hometext] => **This poem is based on what I think was a dream I had last night. So forgive me if it doesn't make any sense, or has no structure to it.** > Written a few weeks ago<
[bodytext] => He'll Listen (I hope) Legs that snap in two like toothpicks. Always tilting and falling back. Falling back into Alice hole, And reaching bottom breaking. The Call- You were hurt- And my fear came. And I was going to be alone. That I would turn into that woman in my great-grandmothers' nursing home. Where she lived in her own world, where this world didn't live in her eyes anymore. She bagged on her tray; she kept time in her world that way. I blocked out her mummers. This is only a dream I am apparently having awake. You're pushing me away in the dream, it felt so real. These lines were the dream... Back to great-grandmothers' nursing home I mentioned the woman. I remember too the day grandma couldn't remember my sisters' name. I want to tell you I love you so I do. I tell you you're not the same man you used to be. We don't see each other anymore. I tell my heart- My mom was right. You do fall hard the first time. I don't mind the bruises. Because, My hearts' bruised and broken from falling so hard. All for love. In my dream too, Mom accidentally finds these lines too and tears show in her eyes. She says, "Tell him." "Alright I'll tell him, he'll listen. (I hope.")
