Swallow my sadness
Its only the little girl inside
Pushing forth fear, madness
Don't let them see
My broken spirit, visible
Forced smiles, tears well behind sunglasses
Be strong, be wise, be sensible
Going to have to deal with her
The little girl gone wild
Put her in her place
Burried like the child
Never be able to move on
While the little girl pulls the strings
Never be healthy again emotionally
As long as she continues to sing
So choke her voice
Don't give her the power
To control my life
To lock me in this tower
Quiet now...
Wouldn't want them to hear
My sobs of mourning
Me drowning in fear
Get it out...quietly...
Tears that lurk behind these eyes
They seem never ending
Been battling them all night
Sleep is restless
As she approaches
Memories filling, flooding
She's dancing in my tears and words unspoken
I've tried to kill her
Tried cutting her veins
But I'm the one who ends up hurt
She just won't die, is here again
So maybe killing her isn't the answer
Perhaps I should say hello
And bargain with her for my life
See if I can bribe her to go
Perhaps all she wants is to be acknowledged
To argue with me constant
And if I acknowledge, tell her to leave
Will she mind my words and be respondant? [comments] => 2 [counter] => 202 [topic] => 61 [informant] => sena [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => selfstruggles )

The inner struggle is often the harshest one, isn't it? How do you run away from yourself...? Some days are easier than others, and with any luck, you have a few more of those than the bad ones... This is a well-expressed post that tugs at the heart. Keep writing, it helps heal the soul...

Nicely done... I'm sure many people can relate to this. Unfortunately, it's just a part of life =(

This was well written though. Good job conveying your emotions. I especially liked these 2 lines:

My sobs of mourning
Me drowning in fear
