Softness of her caress, gentle as a light summer bresze.
An embrace so lovingly bestowed,
her scent like roses in bloom.

Hands lovingly stroke,
his muscles she messages.
All to ease the sufferiing,
and lull him into a sweet repose.

Her love radiates from her fingertips,
guided by her hand with compassion.
Her only goal is to relax and comfort him,
to be there anyway she can.

His care is her mission,
to express gentle love and caring, her delight.
Together they face the inevitable decline,
making the most of what was left of time. [comments] => 6 [counter] => 341 [topic] => 21 [informant] => Willofree [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 20 [ratings] => 4 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )

What a gut-wrenching end Will... I love the story you tell though, the wording is just so lovingly affectionate, and paints a beautiful picture of care and unity... It's what love's all about, right?

I'm with scorp .. that ending is so painful to read, Wil...

But yes .. those who sacrifice and compromise for
their loved ones are to be commended and praised.
This unconditional kind of love is so seldom expressed ..
tis a sad, sad thing. When I am witness to the beauty
and wonder of a selfless kind of love like that, I am
left breathless and weepy.

Truly the most remarkably beautiful gift .. our love.

Perfect post, my friend
~Breezy

This is a very beautiful poem. I love the flow that it has. And how it tells so much about reality. Nice work.

Terry, you write of life, of love, of time... and I refuse to see this as a sad write, or a depressing one. Our time is essentially borrowed from the moment of our conception, and to find the one person who would be the care giver we may need, or to whom we would be willing to provide for... that should be the goal of life. This poem to me is a celebration of that fact. Two people having found the best in each other and willing to live for them, with them, for as long as time will allow. There is a sense of sadness... perhaps that time is indeed fleeting, but I refuse to see this despairatively.

Nazzy ~
