Small delicate icy feathers
float...

floating....

from the sky
darkened blue
by night
white powder
talcum soft
captured in flight
caught by the reflection
of the artificial
light

February 2007 Watching it snow outside where the outside light shines.

A sweet tablespoon of winter that leaves one wanting more and unlike cod liver oil this medicine tastes as good as it is for the soul.

Bravo

It's funny; I like seeing snowing twice a year --- the first real snowfall, and one for Christmas, and then I'm good till next year --- haha... But I never tire of reading about it in poetry, as it always comes across as so damn eloquent and peaceful! So needless to say; I enjoyed this : )
Keep it up Laura!

"Small delicate feathers"-an excellent metaphor.

I imagine that is exactly how snowflakes look.
I have in fact never seen the snow.

Ah, snow... I do miss snow... A great muse, a great inspiration. And you've done well with it.
Take care,
David

A very visual and pleasant way to describe something as gentle and beautiful as a snow fall. This brings back memories. I live in Alabama so they are distant memories of my child hood in Connecticutt. Wonderful job. I loved it!

Laura~
Hey you, it's so good to see you around my dear friend. I think we both have been away for a while. I hope that all is good and well with you my dear friend.
Snow, I would so much love to see such a beautiful sight. I have never seen snow, but you paint a beautiful picture of it so well with your words my dear friend. So little words written, but such strong images they create into the readers mind.
Absolutely *beautiful* Well done my dear deadhead friend~
love n hugs,
sue m
